Oh those resolutions! Lose weight, quit smoking, call your mother more, travel, change jobs, go back to school; get married. New Year, new me! How many times have we heard these? It’s a small (very small) percentage of resolution makers each year that actually follow through. Are you one of them? If you’re a couple, a marriage or committed relationship, why not make some resolutions you can actually keep in 2018?
Resolutions for Couples you can keep in 2018 include:
- Resolve to devote yourself to your partner with your whole heart, mind and body.
- Resolve to listen to your partner with the intention to understand what they truly mean
- Resolve to have more sex. Not just sex, but increased physical and emotional intimacy that brings you closer together
- Resolve to “date” your partner. Share an adventure/experience with your partner at least monthly in 2018
- Resolve to thank your partner for all the big and small things they do to make your life better
- Resolve to carve out specific “Couples Time” where you and your partner make it all about the two of you and your love story.
- Resolve to do everything within your power to make your partner feel loved and important in your world.
These resolutions are not gym memberships that you can cancel in February. These are concrete changes that you can make every day of the New Year to improve your life with your partner and build a secure, connected and authentic relationship that will last.
